New York-based Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin, 27-3 (15 KOs), is back home in Sundsvall nursing his wounds - mainly a broken finger - after the loss to Derek Chisora on February 8 in Manchester, England.
Interviewed by Sundsvall Tidning, Otto says he was about to pack it in right after the fight but now he has reconsidered and vows to back. "I'm going to turn it around for something better," said Wallin.
The soon to be 35-year old acknowledges the loss to Chisora was a bad one. He entered the ring as a favorite against a 41-year-old warrior whose best days have gone - but Wallin deservedly came up short on the cards after 12 rounds.
A loss to Tyson Fury in 2019 made Wallin's name when he handed the Englishman one of his toughest fights to that point. He was stopped by Anthony Joshua in 2023 and this latest setback to Chisora means there's a lot of work to do to get back on track.
As for the future, Wallin says he will stay in New York City and he hopes to embark on a career as a trainer once his fighting days are over.
