WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) says there is no rush to make a decision on facing WBC/WBA 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo' Alvarez (43-0-1, 30KOs) on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Both boxers are scheduled to return on the same September date. Mayweather, who won a twelve round decision over Robert Guerrero on Saturday night, wants to take some time and then he plans to make a decision on his next opponent in the coming weeks.

"I am close to 40 than I am to 21, so I feel like I'm in a postition to take some time off.... talk it over with Al Haymon, talk it over with my father, Leonard [Ellerbe] and the rest of my team, and see what we come up with. I'm not going to duck or dodge anyone but I'm at the pinnacle or my sport and I've earned my stripes. I worked hard for 17 years to get to this point. I'm not going to rush. Canelo Alvarez is a hell of a fighter. But when I seen the fight against Trout, I thought it was a lot closer. Trout wasn't landing big shots but he was more active. But like I said before, that's not for me to worry about. My job is to keep racking up victories and to be the best Floyd Mayweather," Mayweather said.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told BoxingScene.com that it's still too early to determine the situation with September 14 - regarding the possible scenarios for both Mayweather and Canelo.
