Dalton Smith made weight for the 18th time as a professional ahead of his Saturday fight with Mathieu Germain.
Sheffield’s popular Smith towered over his Canadian opponent and as they exchanged verbals having hit the scales, Smith said, “You’ve never been in with anyone like me, you know it.”

Germain, from Quebec, is 26-2-1 (11 KOs).
“It’s a big fight for me tomorrow,” said 17-0 (13 KOs) Smith. “He thinks I’ve overlooked this fight but I’ve put everything into this camp. After a couple of rounds, when I’ve found my rhythm, he’ll know he’s in a hard fight.”

Elsewhere on the bill, Josh Padley – a recent loser to Shakur Stevenson in Saudi Arabia – came in well under the 135lbs lightweight limit for his fight with Marko Cvetanovic having said this week that he would consider dropping down to junior lightweight in the future, while veteran Kane Baker made an attempt to get into the head of Giorgio Visioli, challenging him to stand in the trenches with him at the Park Community Arena in Sheffield.
