Although the ceremonial weigh-in is still to come – scheduled for 3pm BST – light-heavyweights Ben Whittaker and Liam Cameron have both officially made weight ahead of their fight tomorrow in Birmingham.

Whittaker, the favourite, tipped the scales at 12st 7lbs, while Cameron came in a pound lighter at 12st 6lbs.

The last time these two met, back in October, the fight was marred by controversy when the pair ended up falling out of the ring following a messy clinch. Afterwards, Whittaker, 8-0-1 (5), claimed he was too injured to continue, and so the bout was stopped and deemed a sixth-round technical draw.

Since then, both men have gone back and forth about what happened in Riyadh that night, with Whittaker of the belief it was just one of those things and Cameron, 23-6-1 (10), convinced Whittaker “faked” the injury because he knew things were getting tough. Whatever the truth, the hope now is that tomorrow will settle the dispute once and for all.
