HOLLYWOOD, Florida – Floyd Mayweather didn’t seem the least bit concerned Saturday afternoon about a size disadvantage against Logan Paul.

The 6-feet-3 Paul weighed in at 189½ pounds at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for their eight-round exhibition, 34½ pounds more than the 5-feet-8 Mayweather, who weighed 155 pounds. Paul could not weigh more than 190 pounds Saturday, whereas Mayweather could’ve weighed whatever he wanted.

Now that their weights are official with the Florida State Boxing Commission, there are no restrictions on how much weight Paul can add until the time they step into the ring late Sunday night at Hard Rock Stadium in nearby Miami Gardens.

Without a contractual cap on his weight, Paul could out-weigh Mayweather by 50-plus pounds by the time their bout begins. Mayweather seemingly couldn’t care less because he undefeated five-division champion is completely confident that his skill level is so superior to the inexperienced Paul’s that weight won’t matter in a bout that won’t count on either of their records.

Mayweather, 44, and Paul, 26, will wear 10-ounce gloves, boxing’s standard for fights contested above the welterweight limit of 147 pounds.

This Showtime Pay-Per-View main event will mark Mayweather’s first fight of any kind since he knocked out a significantly smaller opponent, Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa, in the first round of a December 2018 exhibition in Saitama, Japan. Las Vegas’ Mayweather sent Nasukawa, then just 20 years old, to the canvas three times before their fight was stopped.

Mayweather retired from fights that count for the third time following his 10th-round stoppage of UFC superstar Conor McGregor in August 2017 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Paul, of Westlake, Ohio, has just one professional fight on his record. The YouTube star lost that six-round cruiserweight bout by split decision to rival Olajide “KSI” Olatunji in November 2019 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Before Paul and Mayweather stepped on the scale Saturday, former NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver Chad Johnson weighed in at 179½ pounds for his four-round cruiserweight exhibition against Brian Maxwell, who weighed 183½ pounds.

Miami’s Johnson is 43, but Maxwell lost his only professional boxing bout by second-round technical knockout 3½ months ago in Miami.

Maxwell, 33, also is 0-3 in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships matches. The Roanoke, Virginia, native has been knocked out three times overall in four bouts between boxing and BKFC.

Maxwell is 2-3 in MMA matches as well, including two TKO defeats.

The Johnson-Maxwell match will open Showtime Pay-Per-View’s four-fight event Sunday night (8 p.m. EDT; $49.99).
