Light heavyweight women’s titleholders Lani Daniels and Che Kenneally both signed with Salita Promotions, the promoter announced in a press release Thursday.
Daniels, 11-2-2 (1 KO), the IBF division belt holder, and Kenneally, 5-0 (2 KOs), the WBA’s titlist, join one of the most impressive assemblages of women’s talent in boxing – including Salita fighters Claressa Shields (undisputed heavyweight world champion) and recently signed Franchón Crews-Dezurn (unified super middleweight world champion).
“We are deeply committed to advancing equality in boxing by creating real opportunities for women to compete, succeed and inspire on the world stage,” said Dmitriy Salita, president of Salita Promotions. “Signing elite champions like Lani Daniels and Che Kenneally reflects our belief that women’s boxing deserves the same investment, visibility and respect as the men’s game. We are proud to support their journey and help shape a future where talent and determination define success.”
Daniels, 36, boxing’s first-ever two-division titleholder from New Zealand, won her first world belt with a unanimous decision win over Alrie Meleisea in May 2023. She made one defense before moving down to light heavyweight and taking a majority decision over Desley Robinson in December 2023 to secure her second title. Daniels most recently took a wide points win over Bolatito Oluwole last September.
Kenneally, 30, edged Sequita Hemingway in a split decision win in October 2023 to win the WBA’s vacant light heavyweight title, and she returned with a more emphatic win over Hemingway in their March 2024 rematch, defending her belt in a unanimous decision. The 6ft Kenneally most recently dismantled Angie Paola Rocha in a third-round stoppage last July.
Salita Promotions and Fidel Tukel’s FK Events Australia will co-promote Kenneally’s bouts.
