Conor Benn may have to put up with something that he is yet to encounter on his walk to the ring this Saturday at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It is expected by many that Benn will be booed during his ring walk to face his bitter rival Chris Eubank Jnr. Benn was once loved by the British public, selling out arenas up and down the country, and had the support of a nation heading into his original slated contest with Eubank Jnr.

That all changed for Benn after two failed drugs tests for the banned substance clomiphene during the build up, and the fight with Eubank Jnr was axed. Benn has always maintained his innocence, but his attitude towards those who think differently has left a sour taste around the once loved Benn.

At the launch press conference to their contest this Saturday, Eubank Jnr made a comment that there would be two villains entering the ring on fight night. The British fight fans have never taken to Eubank Jnr, much like his father Chris Eubank Snr.

Benn’s promoter Eddie Hearn is not expecting a positive reception for either man during their walk to the ring this Saturday.

“I think that they'll both get booed, I think that's how mad we all are,” Hearn told BoxingScene. “I think that after everything Conor's been through, I really don't think… previously I would have said that might affect him, not now.

“He's super focused for this fight, I've never seen him train like this before, he's in the most unbelievable physical condition for this fight, and when you do that you can just go into the fight and enjoy yourself. It's a dangerous fight against a much bigger man, but it's a fight that he can win and it's a fight we believe he will win.”

“People tuned in to watch Chris Eubank Snr lose for years right, and Nas [Hamed],” he continued. “So yeah I think… and people have tuned in to watch [Eubank] Jnr lose for years, and maybe they'll tune in to watch [Conor] Benn lose. I have no idea but at least as long as they fucking tune in I don't care.”

Hearn was then asked for his prediction for the highly anticipated bout on Saturday night.

“I think Conor Benn knocks Chris Eubank Jnr out inside six rounds, and I truly believe that,” said Hearn.
