WARWICK, RI - A former Rhode Island boxing star is facing criminal charges.

Boxer Vinny Pazienza was arrested early today for drunk driving after police discovered him asleep in a yellow jeep.

Warwick police say Pazienza refused to take a breath test, but he was arrested for drunk driving anyway.

Pazienza has been issued a citation, and he must report to court on May 21st.

He's a former World Boxing Association super middleweight champion and International Boxing Federation lightweight champion.
