Natasha Jonas is the latest big name to have been added to the next so-called small-hall show in the city.
The former Olympian, who is also a former custodian of the WBA International super-featherweight title, has been out of the ring since March.
Jonas was set to box in April at the Eventim Olympia but was forced to withdraw due to unforeseen circumstances.
However, ‘Miss GB’ will see action at the West Derby Road venue after being confirmed as an addition to the bumper ‘MTK Fight Night’ card on July 12, exclusively live on iFL TV in the UK and ESPN + Stateside.
Jonas (7-1, 5 KOs) outpointed Feriche Mashauri over six rounds at the M&S Bank Arena on the undercard of Liam Smith’s win over Sam Eggington last time and she joins a bill at the storied setting which already features a plethora of talent.
Former WBA ‘regular’ super-middleweight champion Rocky Fielding will make his comeback on the bill after last December’s third-round stoppage at the hands of Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez at Madison Square Garden in New York, while his gym-mate Martin Murray will also be looking to get back to winning ways after losing to Hassan N’Dam at Manchester Arena last year.
Jazza Dickens will clash with Australia’s Nathaniel May for the vacant IBF European featherweight crown, Craig Glover will look to get back to winning ways and former world lightweight champion Terry Flanagan will fight for the first time since losing in the quarter-finals of the World Boxing Super Series last October after inking a managerial deal with MTK Global.
Ged Carroll will fight on the bill and there will be action for John Quigley, classy youngster James Heneghan and Billy Potter, Heneghan’s gym-mate, who will be making his professional debut after signing with Alfie Warren and Warren Boxing Management.
