Super middleweight Jaime Munguia has made weight for his fourth and final fight of 2024, as he prepares to face Bruno Surace in a 10-round bout Saturday at Estadio Caliente in Tijuana, Mexico. The fight will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Munguia, 28, weighed in at 169.1lbs, the same as Surace. The bout is listed as a super middleweight bout but appears to be contested at a slight catchweight.

Munguia, a Tijuana native, holds a record of 44-1 (35 KOs). He is fighting at home for the first time since February 2022, when he stopped D'Mitrius Ballard. Munguia has gone 2-1 in 2024, starting with a stoppage win over John Ryder in January, followed by a loss to Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in May. He rebounded with a 10th-round knockout of Erik Bazinyan in September in a fight scheduled for 12 rounds.

Surace, 26, enters the ring with a record of 25-0-2 (4 KOs). The Frenchman has faced modest opposition, with only eight of his opponents holding winning records. His most notable victory came last December, when he stopped previously unbeaten Jhon Jader Obregon in the 12th round.

In the co-feature, featherweight Alan David Picasso weighed in at 125.9lbs ahead of his bout with late replacement Yehison Cuello, who came in at 124.6lbs. Cuello stepped in after Picasso’s original opponent, Isaac Sackey, withdrew for undisclosed reasons.

Picasso, 24, from Mexico City, holds an undefeated record of 30-0 (16 KOs). BoxingScene reported that Picasso is in line for a fight with Naoya Inoue in 2025. Cuello, 29, a southpaw from Caucasia, Colombia, holds a record of 13-2-1 (11 KOs). He is coming off a September knockout loss to Jose Andres Teran. Most of Cuello’s career bouts have taken place in Colombia, while his recent loss was his first fight in Mexico.
