German promotional company SES - headed by Ulf Steinforth - celebrates 25 years in the business with a show at the outdoor venue Elbauen Lake Stage in Magdeburg on May 17.
Cruiserweight Roman Fress, 22-1, headlines against Michael Seitz, 13-1, in a fight for the vacant WBO I-C title. Fress is ranked in the top 15 by WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF and is trained by former WBO super-middleweight champ Robert Stieglietz, who fought for SES during his entire career.
In the co-feature super-middleweight Artur Reis, 14-1, defends the WBA continental title against an opponent to be announced. Reis is trained by another former SES star in former NBA middleweight champ Dirk Dzemski, who was part of the team right from the start back in 2000.
SES is based in Magdeburg and promoter Ulf Steinforth has staged the majority of his shows in former East Germany. Over the years he has co-promoted with Sauerland Event, Universum Box Promotion, Spotlight Boxing and Blanko Sports. BoxRec lists 176 SES events over the course of 25 years.
Outside of Stieglitz and Dzemski, other SES stars from the past include world champs like Lukas Konency, Jan Zaveck, Natasha Ragosina and Dominic Boesel.
