Junior middleweight Sadriddin Akhmedov hopes to be the next well-known fighter from Kazakhstan, following in the footsteps of Gennadiy Golovkin. He is 24 hours away from his next fight.

Akhmedov timed the scales at 156.4 lbs, while Elias Espadas matched him at that same weight for their 10-round catchweight bout from the Commerce Casino, Commerce, California.

Akhmedov, 15-0 (13 KOs), is a 27-year-old trained by Abel Sanchez. Sanchez also trained Golovkin during his heyday. Akhmedov is currently riding a three-fight knockout streak. Espadas, 23-6 (16 KOs), is a tough veteran best known for his 2022 loss to Xander Zayas. Espadas, a 34-year-old from Merida, Mexico, has fought three times in the past three years. He enters this fight on a knockout win in his previous bout but before was stopped by Fiodor Czerkaszyn and Zayas in consecutive bouts.

The co-feature will see former sparring partners Umar Dzambekov and Sonny McEwen going at under the bright lights. Dzambekov, 10-0 (7 KOs), who trains with Marvin Somodio in Las Angeles, enters on a two-fight knockout streak. Dzambekov, 27, used to spar McEwen, 11-1 (7 KOs) for years. McEwen, a 34-year-old from Hawthorne, California, was knocked out in his last fight by Anthony Halloway in March 2024. He hasn’t fought since.

The fight card promoted by 360 Promotions will be broadcast on UFC Fight Pass.
