Oscar Collazo will head to enemy territory for his next title defense.

The unified WBO/WBA minimumweight champion will face Edwin Cano on March 29 at Poliforum Benito Juarez in Cancun, Mexico. The twelve-round bout will be the co-feature underneath the William Zepeda-Tevin Farmer rematch, and will air live on DAZN.

Collazo, 11-0 (8 KOs), of Villalba, Puerto Rico, will be making his fifth defense of the WBO belt he won in 2023, and first defense of the titles he unified in his last fight, when he stopped the previously unbeaten Thammanoon Niyomtrong in November.

"I'm happy and grateful to have our fifth defense and first fight of 2025," said Collazo in a press release. "We will make the most of this opportunity and show once again that we are the best in the 105-pound division in the world."

Cano, 13-2-1 (4 KOs), of Queretaro, Mexico is unbeaten in his last four fights, including a fourth round knockout of previously unbeaten Michael Carmona last July, which won him a WBO regional title. The 27-year-old Cano is stepping up significantly in class, having fought in just one bout scheduled for ten rounds - when he was knocked out in three rounds by David Jimenez in 2021.

"I'm very happy to fight for a world title in my country," said Cano. "I'm very focused on giving a great fight."

Also added to the card, former three-division champion Yokasta Valle, 32-3 (10 KOs), will face off with another former champion, Marlen Esparza, 15-2 (1 KO), in a ten-round flyweight fight. Valle, who defeated Elizabeth Lopez last November to win the vacant WBC 105lbs title, will be moving up in weight for the non-title fight.

Esparza, who is three years older than Valle at 35, last fought in December, outpointing former champion Arely Mucino.

Other fights added to the DAZN broadcast include Joselito “El Huracan” Velazquez, 20-1-1 (13 KOs), against an opponent to be named in a ten-round flyweight bout, plus Robin Safar, 17-0 (12 KOs), against Roberto Silva, 13-3 (7 KOs), in a ten-round cruiserweight fight.
