WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly (25-0, 12KOs) is convinced that he will face Bernard Hopkins, now the IBF champion, in a unification before the end of the year. Hopkins, 48, beat Tavoris Cloud on Saturday night to capture the IBF title. Cleverly has to face mandatory challenger Robin Krasniqi (39-2, 15KOs) on April 20th at Wembley Arena in London.
"A potential fight between myself and Hopkins is inevitable now," Cleverly told BBC Sport. "I think we'll definitely get that fight on and I believe it will be after my next fight."
"Provided I get rid of this Krasniqi now... then I'm convinced that the Hopkins fight will be after that. I'm glad Bernard Hopkins won the fight because it hypes up a fight between himself and me in the very near future.”
