Timur Bibilov improved to 8-0 (8 KOs), when the 19 year old from Russia scored a stoppage in the 10th and final round against Kenyan cruiserweight Joshua Wasike, 5-1 (4 KOs), on Friday at Yunost Arena in Chelyabinsk, Russia.
It was a free-swinging affair and Wasike was down from a heavy right hand after a wild fifth round. Both were hurt and Bibliov was exhausted but he kept throwing, and landing, and broke through in the 10th, at which point Wasike was stopped when the referee intervened. A big left hook, a shot that had dropped the African earlier in the fight, too, caused him to wobble and soon after the fight was halted.
Madiyar Saydrakhimov, now 2-0 (1 KO), picked up a sixth round stoppage over the tough Andrey Stotsky, now 5-1-1 (3 KOs). Saydrakhimov, a 27 year old cruiserweight from Uzbekistan, dropped Stotsky, 30, heavily in the sixth after landing several hard right hands. Stotsky returned to his feet, but two right hands later, the referee had seen enough and waved off the contest at 1:55 of Round 6.
The junior middleweight Saidjamshid Jafarov, now 2-0, picked up a win over the vastly more experienced Sergey Lubkovich, now 18-1-1. Jafarov, 26, used his sharp jab and left hand from the southpaw stance to pick apart the smaller Lubkovich, 29, over six rounds.
Welterweight Akhmadshokh Makhmadshoev, now 4-0-1 (1 KO), won a unanimous decision over Artem Pugach, now 3-8-4 (1 KO). Pugach, 34, pressed the action, but Makhmadshoev, 23, stayed calm and landed some nice counters to take the decision.
Vague Sarukhanyan, now 22-4-2, picked up a win over Nurtas Azhbenov, now 15-2. The two junior welterweights put in an entertaining and competitive contest, but Sarukhanyan, 34, was able to outwork Azhbenov, 30, and take a unanimous decision.
Hard hitting junior welterweight Karen Solovyov impressed in his professional debut against Islam Koloev, now 0-2. Soloyov, 20, pinned Koloev in the corner and whipped in a right uppercut that narrowly missed. Soloyov followed it up with another right hand, this time straight down the pipe, and caught Koloev, 21, on the chin. Koloev hit the floor in a heap face first and the contest was waved off shortly after. The time of the stoppage was 2.53 of Round 2.
The junior welterweight Albina Moldajanova made a lightning quick start to her professional career with a first round stoppage over fellow debutant Nuriyat Alibekova. Moldajanova, 23, started fast and piled the pressure on the older Alibekova, 39, trapping her in the corner. Moldajanova fired in a flurry of shots and followed it up with a left hand to the stomach of Alibekova. The Russian hit the floor in agony, and stayed down for the full 10 count. The time of the stoppage was 0:34 of Round 1.
