BELFAST– The third fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano is apparently inching closer to being set for the summer.

The two women have shared two exceptional battles, with Taylor coming out on top in brutal wars, firstly to shatter records for the women’s sport by selling out Madison Square Garden, and then setting more records with another humdinger in Texas as part of the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul show in November last year.

The styles of women will always blend for a fun fight, and while Irish icon Taylor – who might only have a fight or two left – had hoped to sign off her career in Croke Park stadium in Dublin or by topping the bill in Las Vegas, she might end up meeting Serrano back in The Garden in New York.

It was though The Sphere in Las Vegas could initially be an option, but that venues would appear cost-prohibitive.

“We’re negotiating with MVP for Taylor-Serrano III for a fight to take place in America, potentially in New York,” said Hearn. “There’s two things that Katie hasn’t done yet, one’s Vegas and one’s Croke Park, so if we’re not going to Croke Park, we would quite like to go to Vegas, but at the end of the day wherever the fight lands, it lands. Could be MSG, but we’re speaking to [MVPs] Nakisa [Bidarian] and trying to finalize negotiations for that fight.”

Hearn said he expected news “in the next week or so.”
