The return of former four division world champion Juan Manuel "Dinamita" Marquez appears to be closer than ever - because it is now confirmed that the Professional Boxing Commission of Mexico has already been notified of an event for late July, either on the 22nd or 29th of that month.

According to ESPN Deportes, one of the details to be defined is if the event is going to be held in the Zócalo of Mexico City or go to Arena Mexico City.

Marquez is reportedly the headliner of the card, with the possibility of an undercard fight involving Juan Francisco "Gallo" Estrada - if nothing is finalized with Carlos Quadras for their WBC super flyweight final eliminator

Maruqez has been out of the ring for three years, since winning a twelve round unanimous decision over former world champion Mike Alvarado in May 2014 at the Forum of Inglewood, California.

It had been discussed initially of a fight for June 24 in Toluca, State of Mexico, but in the end everything has inclined towards Mexico City.

Márquez has been training constantly in the Romanza Gym and has not had any injury come, which has allowed him to think about his planned return and farewell in his homeland where he fought on very few occasions in his career and more recently in April 2012 .

Juan Manuel, 43 years old, plans to return this year and bid farewell at the same time to his fans. He wants to potentially have a fight at 147-pounds and then tentatively say goodbye.

There are still talks of a possible catch-weight fight with another four division world champion, Miguel Cotto, on a date in November or December. Cotto has also been out of the ring for quite a while, with his last bout taking place in November 2015 when he lost a twelve round decision to Canelo Alvarez. Cotto is slated to return in late June or early July against Yoshihiro Kamegai.
