Various UK sources are reporting that WBO/WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe (44-0, 32KOs) will move up in weight to challenge light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins (48-4-1, 32KOs) on April 12 in Las Vegas. The venue has not been set, although the MGM Grand and the Mandalay Bay are the two frontrunners.

The fight is close to being finalized with an official announcement possibly coming within the next two weeks. Back in December, the fighters agreed on a 50-50 split for the bout, with Calzaghe making a career-high purse.
