Giorgio Visioli picked up another stoppage in his victory over Kane Baker on the undercard of Dalton Smith vs. Mathieu Germain in Sheffield, England.

As an amateur, Visioli failed to register a single win inside the distance but has now scored six stoppage wins in his seven professional contests. Visoli, now 7-0 (6 KOs), was making a step up of sorts against Baker, but it was apparent from the beginning there was a huge difference in class between the two. Visioli barely got out of first gear, slapping in his jab and whipping in his southpaw left at will.

The 22-year-old junior lightweight started to turn the screw in the third and Baker’s cornerman had his towel in hand. The corner had seen enough 54 seconds into the fourth. With Visioli in cruise control and seemingly landing whatever shots he wanted, they threw in the towel and spared their man another beating. This was Baker’s last professional contest and he finishes his career with a record of 19-12-2 (1 KO).

Before then middleweight Emmanuel Buttigieg picked up a fifth-round stoppage victory over Grant Dennis. Buttigieg, now 8-0 (2 KOs), pressed the action from the off and targeted the body of Dennis, now 19-11 (3 KOs). Buttigieg sunk in another left hand to the body late into the fifth and Dennis sunk to the canvas for the full 10 count. The referee Steve Gray waved off the action at 2:20 of Round 5.

Prior to that, one of Dave Allen’s growing stable of professional fighters, Joe Howarth, picked up a win over Mario Valenzuela Portillo over six rounds. Haworth, a 22-year-old lightweight, took the win by a score of 60-54 on the referee John Latham’s scorecard. Haworth improves to 12-1 (4 KOs), Portillo falls to 8-7-2 (2 KOs).
