Former WBO heavyweight champion Tommy Morrison has been making noise since January with respect to a return to the ring. Morrison claims that several years ago he was given a false positive by doctors, and was never actually infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

Morrison's ex-wife, Dawn 2 (he was married to two women with the name Dawn at the same time in the 90's) told the Kansas City Star that Morrison still has the HIV virus because he takes expensive medication on a daily basis for treatment.

“I don’t know why he says something like that, because it just makes him look like a fool,” she says. “If he thinks it’s a government conspiracy (and he does) then why is he taking the medicine? He (has said), ‘Because it makes my wife happy,’ but that medicine runs $1,700 a month.”

She further stated that Morrison is living off Social Security, because he is disabled due to HIV, which would contradict his claims of not having the virus. She claims that Morrison is being backed by some wealthy arabs to help him regain his boxing license.

"Social Security disability,” Dawn 2 said. “Because he’s disabled because of HIV — it’s about $1,800 (a month). And he’s on some kind of plan that covers his medication. He told me some friends in Phoenix had hooked him up with some wealthy Arabs and they’re going to help him get his boxing license back.”

The paper contacted Morrison's attorney, Randy Lang, who said that Dawn is telling nothing, but lies. He said that Morrison is not backed by Arabs, and has not taken HIV related medication in years because he was given a false positive.

“If Tommy was HIV positive and they were having sex, there’s no way she could not have it,” Lang says. “I’d like to see her take a blood test and let us see the results … She must be trying to taint Tommy by disclosing her own medical records.”

Morrison's ex-wife fired back one final parting shot. “I don’t know why I don’t have it, but it’s not because he doesn’t have it. According to every doctor’s appointment I’ve gone to with him, he has to have it.”
