Badou Jack (22-2-3) was last in action January when he lost a unanimous decision to Marcus Browne in Las Vegas. During the fight he suffered a hellacious cut down the center of his forehead.

The cut required plastic surgery to heal properly and Jack says that there isn't any concern of the cut opening back up.

"I was cleared by the doctors at the end of March - two months after the fight.  I have been waiting for a fight. I am good. The doctor said that the little scar is actually stronger than my regular skin. It is not going to open up," Jack told BoxingScene.com.

Next up for Jack is WBA world light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal.  The 2 will clash on Saturday night as the co-feature bout in chief support of the Gervonta Davis-Yuriorkis Gamboa main event.  The Showtime televised tripleheader will open with former champion Jose Uzcategui facing Lionell Thompson in a super middleweight bout.

As for the layoff, Jack said that he preferred to return to the ring sooner but expects to put on a great performance.

"It was both good and bad. I gained a little weight but it was good to have a little break but I would have loved to come back a little earlier.  Now we have this opportunity and December 28th it is," said Jack.

At 36-years-old Jack expects to be as good as before.  His only other loss took place back in 2014 when he was stopped by Dereck Edwards.  After that fight Jack went on a run to become a 2-division champion and he expects to be a champion once again on Saturday night.

"Sometimes losses make you better. Like my first loss,it was an accident and I became better. This loss - wasn't really a fair loss - but I lost and now I am more hungry," Jack stated.
