This coming Saturday night, former world champion Antonio DeMarco will return to action in Tecate, Baja California. He will face Colombian Orlen Padilla. DeMarco (30-3-1, 23 KOs) and Padilla (20-5-1, 18 KOs) will battle for ten rounds at the junior welterweight limit as the TV Azteca televised main event.
DeMarco previously held the WBC lightweight title and made three defenses before dropping the belt to Adrien Broner. He is now looking for a second divisional title at the 140-pound limit.
DeMarco, now trained by Freddie Roach, hopes to get a big opportunity at junior welterweight.
"My opportunity will be provided at the right time. Of course I would love to fight Brandon Rios, Mike Alvarado, Jessie Vargas - that's what I want," DeMarco said.
