Eddie Hearn, promoter for IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, admits his boxer's next fight could be pushed back to a date in July.
At the moment, Joshua is scheduled to make a mandatory defense against once-beaten Kubrat Pulev at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 20. The card is going to be carried by Sky Sports Box Office and DAZN.
With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Hearn's company has canceled all of their shows for March and April. The British Boxing Board of Control has canceled all of the shows for the month of March.
For Joshua, he wants to fight on home soil after spending 2019 fighting in New York City and Saudi Arabia.
The Hotspur Stadium holds over 62,000 fans, and given the current climate in the world - Hearn may need additional time to pack the arena - and there is no guarantee of the coronavirus restrictions ending by then.
"A requirement for Anthony in his next fight, a necessity for him was to box in the UK," said Hearn. "June 20 is a long time away, it's still in our plans. We have been speaking to Tottenham and making sure that we're all on the same page.
"We know we have the same strategy moving forward. Obviously the Premier League decision will play a big part in a number of sports. Plans to put new dates in place and that fight as well.
"For the Anthony Joshua fight, already potential plans to move that fight back to July. We do have a potential date for that, but right now, hoping June 20 can remain the date."
