The world lightweight champion of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), Miguel “Títere” Vázquez (26-3, 12 KOs) is ready to make the first defense of his title against Ricardo “Pelón” Domínguez (32-6-2, 20 KOs), tentatively to take place in Tijuana, Mexico on November 27. Ricardo Dominguez is a native of Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico, and this will be his second chance to win a title. The first chance was against Humberto Soto.

Vazquez won the vacant 135-pound title on August 14 in Laredo, Texas, defeating Korean boxer Kim Ji Hoon by unanimous decision.

Vázquez will be the co-main event with the new WBA junior flyweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Giovanni Segura, who makes the first defense of his title on the same card, and then takes on Ivan Calderon in a rematch on April 23 in Puerto Rico.
