Rogelio "Porky" Medina is hoping that IBF super middleweight champion James DeGale continues to look past him.

DeGale will challenge Medina on the 30th of April in Washington DC. Also on the card, WBC champion Badou Jack will defend the belt against former IBF beltholder Lucian Bute.

If DeGale and Jack win their upcoming bouts they will face each other in fall.

Medina, 27-years-old with a record of 36-6 with 30 knockouts, will attempt to become the first or the second Mexican to win a super middleweight world title, depending on the outcome of Gilberto Ramirez's challenge of WBO world champion Arthur Abraham on April 9th in Las Vegas.

"If he keeps focuses on Jack - that might favor me. I am an opponent that someone can beat easily. I will go out there to work and demonstrate that I'm for great things, I think (DeGale) should worry about [Jack] when the fight is over and if he wants to keep looking ahead - go ahead - if he think I'm such a little obstacle, go ahead," said Medina to ESPN Deportes.

Medina's career took a positive turn in August 2014, because after four defeats in six matches between February 2013 and May 2014 - he scored an upset knockout win over  J'Leon Love, who is promoted by Floyd Mayweather Jr.

"I think that win was very good for me and it was important because a lot of doors were starting to close, a lot of people did not have their trust in me, and because of the manner in which I won - it put me closer to a world title. The doors opened to me and helped me to be where I am."
