Former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather (49-0, 26KOs) is happily retired and claims to have no intentions of returning to the ring.
He walked away from the sport last September after winning a twelve round unanimous decision over former welterweight champion Andre Berto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Prior to that fight, Mayweather decisioned Manny Pacquiao in the 'Fight of The Century' last May. The fight shattered all existing financial and pay-per-view records for a sporting event.
There still lingering rumors that Mayweather might attempt a comeback, at some point, in pursuit of his 50th professional win.
At the moment he is sticking to his guns about retirement. He took to the social networks on Sunday night and sent a message to his fans - and his longtime critics.
Mayweather says he is making an income of seven figures per month, which allows him to stay away from the ring. The $300 million he earned for the Pacquiao fight is more money than most fighters earn in their entire career.
"They say 'life is what you make it" and to that, I'll agree wholeheartedly! As I sit here acknowledging how blessed I am to be retired a year shy of my 40th birthday, it's nearly impossible to say that I am not living the 'American Dream,' Mayweather stated.
"Without my usual six-pack or muscle tone in sight, I can sit back and get the last laugh - knowing that I put in the 'Hard Work and Dedication' to be 49-0. I'm blessed to wake up every morning, certain that my bank accounts are growing. Making seven figures monthly without moving a finger just further proves that I've made brilliant investments and decisions that allow me to walk away from the ring, comfortably. I'm proud to be a king."
