Former welterweight champion Carlos 'El Indio' Quintana is still negotiating his return. While previously reported for January 26, it appears the date will fall on Saturday, February 26. Quintana has not been in the ring since am eight round knockout loss to WBC 147-pound champion Andre Berto in April. Quintana will once again compete in the junior middleweight division.

"There is nothing concrete yet, we're discussing it (the opponent). But I'll be back in February, "I'm training in Moca now, and as soon as we sign the fight, I'll move to Carolina (home of his trainer, Jose Bonilla)," Quintana told Jose Sanchez.

Quintana wants the fight in February, then another in April, and then a major title bout at 154-pounds. He says the loss to Berto was due to inactivity, which he plans to avoid this time. He also struggled to make the welterweight limit.

"I want to make this fight and then fight again in April," Quintana said. "In the past I have arrived with a lot of inactivity to the fight and I want to avoid that this time. I still have a lot as a boxer, and I understand that the welterweight division left me long ago. But at 154 pounds I can prove myself," Quintana said.
