Floyd Mayweather Jr. said he doesn’t really know who to vote for in the 2016 presidential election.
He did know what issues matter to him most right now.
“Homeless. Us giving back to our American citizens first, the homeless,” Mayweather said at a Feb. 29 press conference for a bout between Ashley Theophane, whom he promotes, and Adrien Broner. “When I think about certain things like the Powerball — how we can generate so much money from Powerball. A lot of the money could’ve went to our American citizens, the homeless.
“And then you think about how the water is in Flint (Michigan),” he said, referencing the crisis in which the city’s water supply has been exposed to lead. His charitable foundation would help. “We want to of course get hundreds of thousands of bottles of water to Flint.”
And then, this being the man known as “Money Mayweather,” he wanted some relief on his bottom line.
“With the new president, cut the taxes for us rich,” he said. “Whoever is going to save me the most in taxes, man. Uncle Sam be getting this.”
