Junior lightweight contender Javier Fortuna will fight Mario Beltre tonight, manager Sampson Lewkowicz told BoxingScene.com Friday night.

The 10 pubs bout will take place at the Hotel Jaragua in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

"This is a stay-busy fight for Javier until we finalize something significant later this year," Lewkowicz told BoxingScene.com.

Fortuna (31-1-1, with 22 KOs), who was born in nearby La Romana, has won his last two fights since losing to Jason Sosa on June 24 of last year. Those victories were against Marlyn Cabrera and Omar Douglas.

The Douglas fight occurred on Nov. 12.

The 27-year-old Douglas is ranked number four by the WBA and number nine by the IBF.

Beltre (16-2, with 11 KOs), who resides in San Pedro de Macoris, is 2-2 in his last four bouts. His recent loss was against Joel Diaz on Nov. 19.

Bantamweight contender Norberto Jimenez will face Donny Garcia in a 10 round bout.

Jimenez (26-8-4, with 14 KOs) is unbeaten in his last 27 bouts, a span of over six years. Garcia (16-1, 5 KOs) only has one victory over a fighter with a winning record.

In a battle of hard-hitting light heavyweights, Felix Valera (14-1, with 12 KOs) squares off against Andy Perez (20-5, with 19 KOs) in a 10 round bout.

Jeison Rosario (12-1, with 9 KOs) will face unbeaten David Nunez (5-0, with 2 KOs) in a six round middleweight bout.

Unbeaten junior lightweight Abrahan Nova (6-0, 5 KOs) will square off against Andres Zapata (7-1, 5 KOs) in a eight round bout.

Unbeaten junior welterweight Alberto Puello (11-0, with 6 KOs) squares off against former fringe contender Patrick Lopez (24-8, with 15 KOs) in an eight round bout.
