Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. (62-9, 45KOs) is not paying attention to the critics who are calling on him to retire from the ring.
On November 12th, Jones' eight fight win streak was snapped when Enzo Maccarinelli knocked him out in brutal fashion in the fourth round of their contest in Moscow, Russia.
Jones, 46-years-old, is not choosing to retire just yet. He is leaving the door open to fight once again and that includes a rematch with Maccarinelli.
The last time Jones suffered a brutal knockout was also in Russia, when he was dropped in the tweflth round of his cruiserweight fight with current WBA champion Denis Lebedev in 2011.
"I do not pay attention to what people are saying. As the Bible says: 'do not judge, yet ye be judged.' If you're going to try to respond to offensive words or justify actions, then you will spend your whole life doing that. My motivation is inside, not outside," Jones said.
"I know I lost, but in fact it was the real victory. The people supported me, I saw it. I am grateful to [Russia] for having met these people here. Every time I [lose a fight], I want to hold a rematch. I hate to lose. I have no fear. I am willing to fight any boxer. But it all depends on my family and on my health."
