Former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. is ranked at number one, in the recently released "Highest Paid Athletes of the Decade" list from Forbes.

Forbes listed Mayweather as making $915 million in the past 10 years, $115 million more than any other athlete. The majority of that money came from his blockbuster pay-per-view fights with Manny Pacquiao (2015) and Conor McGregor (2017).

Mayweather made more than $500 million from the bouts with Pacquiao and McGregor. The fights generated around 10 million pay-per-view purchases.

Mayweather (50-0) retired from the sport in August of 2017, after stopping McGregor in ten rounds at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. He recently announced the possible scenario of a comeback in 2020.

The athletes that came closest to Mayweather were soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo (No. 2, $800 million) and Lionel Messi (No. 3, $750 million).

Mayweather's career rival, eight division champion Manny Pacquiao, who is still active as the WBA welterweight champion, is reported to have made $435 million in the last decade. Pacquiao, who is scheduled to fight again in the first half of the year, come in at No. 7 on the top ten.
