On Mexican turf, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-2. 30KOs) declared that everything and everyone has their time, and it'll his moment against Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0-, 26KOs) on September 14th in Las Vegas.
 
The only Mexican stopover was at the Monument of the Niños Heroes, in Mexico City.
The huge crowd and massed media, enjoyed a broiling, caustic sun, as the roadshow arrived more than two and a half hours late.
 
Canelo promised an intelligent fight and also stressed his principal aim is to win against the best. He also got big cheers for saying he's proud to be Mexican and will do Mexico proud.
 
Floyd declared: "I'm not afraid of nothing and I'm not worried about anything. I got into this sport to be a winner and so did Canelo. I'm a winner and I'll die a winner. When you're fighting Floyd Mayweather, you're fighting the best. I just can't be beat. Perhaps twenty years from now...but not now!"
 
Floyd was however also generous adding: "I commend Canelo. He's a young strong champion. His team has done a good job with his career. The Mexicans know boxing!"
 
Floyd's straight right hand came in useful, as well as Canelo signed everything and anything in sight, during a marathon autograph session, which lasted way beyond the twelve round limit.
