Canelo Alvarez had a 188-131 edge in punches landed & landed the harder shots. 58 of Canelo's 188 landed punches were body shots.

Daniel Jacobs landed just 20% of his total punches after landing 32% in his previous 8 fights. Jacobs landed 7 power shots per round after landing 12 per round in his previous 8 fights.

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez unified the WBA, WBC and IBF middleweight titles after defeating Daniel Jacobs by unanimous decision on Saturday.

The middleweight showdown went the distance in Las Vegas, where the judges scored the 12-round fight in favour of Canelo (52-1-2) at T-Mobile Arena.

IBF holder Jacobs (35-3) was fined for missing weight at a contractually agreed-upon weight check on the day of the fight.

The meeting still went ahead and Canelo – fighting for the first time since his win over Rocky Fielding in December – was too efficient with his punching, passing a tough test against Jacobs as he moved within one belt (WBO) of becoming the undisputed middleweight champion.
