We are one step closer to former unified junior welterweight world champion Jose Ramirez’s Golden Boy Promotions debut.

Both Jose Ramirez and Rances Barthelemy made weight for their Saturday, April 27th, ahead of their catchweight bout, which will take place from the SaveMart Center in Fresno, Calif.

The local hero, Ramirez, 31, came in at 141.8 lbs. in front of a crowd who enjoyed seeing him return. Barthelemy, 38, a former two-division world champion, weighed 142 lbs.

The co-feature saw Ortiz make a catchweight for his second bout of 2024. Ortiz weighed 155.6 lbs, Dulorme came in a tad lighter, but the heaviest of his career at 154.6 lbs.

Oscar Duarte and Joseph Diaz provided the most drama at the weigh-in as both made weight. The bout is highly anticipated as both men are coming off losses in main-event fights.

Duarte, now trained by Robert Garcia weighed 138 lbs - whereas Diaz hit the scales at 137.6 lbs. The bout was contracted at 138 lbs.

Marlen Esparza was looking to defend her three world titles, the WBC, WBO, and WBA women’s flyweight title on the line against Argentina’s Gabriela Alaniz. Until she missed weight.

Esparza hit the scales at 114 lbs, two pounds over the flyweight limit - while her opponent, Alaniz came in at 111.2 lbs.

At the press conference, Esparza was clearly not there to make friends as she answered promptly with the following: “I am here because the WBO said that I have to have a mandatory rematch -- and I am here to fulfill my obligations.”

Only one fight was scratched as popular Fresno welterweight Jennah Creason will not be making her professional debut as Maria Garcia withdrew from the fight -- as no official weigh-in occurred for their bout.

The complete weigh-in results are below.
