Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao was called “a welterweight world championship unification bout” in the official press release announcing the May 2 pay-per-view. Those details were confirmed in a conference call held shortly after the Feb. 20 announcement.
“The weight is 147 pounds,” said HBO’s Ken Hershman.
“All three welterweight titles are at stake,” added Showtime’s Stephen Espinoza.
