Hot welterweight contender Jaron Ennis (24-0, 22 KOs) is ready to hit the ground running in 2020, as he makes his first ring appearance since October of last year.

Ennis will face once-beaten Brooklyn-based contender Bakhtiyar Eyubov.

The contest will be the co-featured attraction to the junior middleweight bout between Claressa Shields and former welterweight champion Ivana Habazin, who battle for the vacant WBC and WBO 154-pound world titles. Both Showtime televised fights will take place at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J.

Ennis has never gone beyond the sixth round. He's stopped his last 14 opponents in a row, with the last boxer to go the distance back in 2017.

And the upcoming bout is no different. He wants to put away Eyubov inside the distance and secure that stoppage in style.

“I don’t think the fight is going to be easy. Of course it’s not going to be easy and I prepared for that too, but I think this is one really big show and the judges will be fair, but I will not give them a chance to make a decision," Ennis said.

“I want to thank Eyubov for taking this fight because as you all know we go through a bunch of opponents every time I fight. Nobody wants to fight me. I thank him for taking this, but despite that, Friday night I’m coming to do my thing and put on a show. You all know I’m in and out like a robbery.

"I’m going to get that knockout. It’s going to come. I’m sure it’s going to come because he’s got to come to me. It’s going to come. We’re going to set it up perfect and get him up out of here."
