Unbeaten welterweight Jaime Munguia continues to win and is slowly emerging more as a contender than prospect.

The 20-year-old Munguia made quick work over veteran Miguel Angel Lopez, knocking him out in round three at the Grand Hotel in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico on Saturday night.

Munguia, who resides in Tijuana, improves to 24-0, with 20 KOs, while Lopez drops to 16-22-3, with 12 KOs.

Lopez, who resides in Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico, has now lost five of his last six bouts.

The taller and stronger Munguia broke down Lopez with each combination to the head and body. Lopez attempted to fight back, but his punches had little impact on Munguia.

Aside from being warned for low blows, Munguia ended matters in round three. A barrage of punches dropped Lopez near the midway point of the round. Moments later, a right to the body dropped Lopez, prompting an immediate stoppage at 1:58.

Despite being deducted two points for low blows throughout the fight, lightweight Junior Cuardado (11-0, with 6 KOs) won an eight round decision over Adrian Zendejas (4-11, with 4 KOs).

Zanfer Promotions promoted the card, which aired on beIN Sports en Espanol.
