Matchroom Sports CEO Eddie Hearn has heard the circulating talk that Canelo Alvarez wants to unify the entire middleweight division.

Canelo, who holds the WBC, WBA middleweight belts, is facing Hearn promoted boxer, IBF middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs, on May 4 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

If Jacobs wins, Hearn wants to match him against WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade (also promoted by Hearn) or former beltholder Gennady Golovkin.

Hearn noted that the battle between Canelo and Jacobs is a 50-50 proposition, and that despite the difficulty of the negotiations, in the end the two sides were able to come together to allow the public to see a great fight.

"It's always difficult to make fights like this, but when the two fighters want it, it gets a little easier. There were many people who helped, DAZN, Matchroom, Golden Boy and better yet, Canelo wanted this challenge, and Jacobs wanted this for a long time and working together is brilliant for boxing," said Hearn to ESPN Deportes.

"Canelo wants to prove he's the best and that's good, but we also want to sweep the division, and there's Daniel Jacobs, since we started working with him we thought about making him an undisputed champion, but first we have to beat Canelo. I see Daniel is very confident, he recognizes that he will have a tough fight and respects Canelo, but we feel he is a bigger, faster and stronger fighter, he has all those things that will give us a 50-50 fight."

"And if it's not Andrade [next fight Jacobs], there's also Golovkin... when they fought, a lot of people saw Jacobs win, and I think those two fights would be easy to do. All the middleweights want to fight with the best."
