  • In regards to Boxing Versus Grappling

Alot of people think that grappling is better than boxing for MMA. But thing thing is, if whoever the best Grappler for heavyweight at the time is now, were to fight someone of reat skill like mike tyson, I dont think theyd get very far. What do you think?

o dont see how a grappler wold try to walk in on a boxer
    i mean ***
    its simple step back combination
the grappler would copme in tryin to grab or hug to get his subbmission in
    then wham pop zing zooom
    hes out

well imo the boxer should have a good footwork or have a steady base to counter against any takedowns.

when it regards to those who use more of the flicker stance that stands all the way to the side you know it sucks against a good opp. who knows how to shoot coz that type of stance doesnt provide good base to distribute your weight when being shoot and very diff. to sprawl at and on the clinch you risk it for wrestlers taking your back.

I have seen a lot of failed shoots already then the next thing you saw is pounding. for those grapplers.

imo when you enter an mma fight you need to be better balance at the ground to or else youu will end up like nishijima right now.

he is very good see his fight against hunt. but grapplers will expose his weakness to the ground see phil baroni.

as long as a boxer steps out of grappling (clinch) range he can box(not just slug) his way to win.all he have to be ready is to be prepared agains any shoots by the means of sprawling or stepping.
just dont get carried away by those jabs if a grappler does that he is just bluffing for you get your attention on the jabs then whammm!!! if you block the jab he is going to shoot.

ofcourse boxers will be very dangerous on the mount.in mark colemans word it is not pounding, you will get hammered.

        Tyson vs rodrigo nogueira(hypothetical)

The only problem i can see with this, is the grappler trying too hard to get the fight to the ground.. We all know boxers have really quick hands.. and someone like tyson is/was quick and hard so the shoot might be attempted a fwe times but if it's snuffed, we all know that BJJ guys will pull a fighter down into his/her gaurd.. this is where it gets dangerous, i'm sure tyson would land a few shots, but the whole time nog would be setting up a submission, i predict nog by triangle choke or arm-bar...

        Different version..

Nog shoots in for take down, tyson steps back and catches him with a brutal upper-cut, nog lands somewhere in the pacific..

It could really go either way..
