The man was being harassed, called racial slurs, and threatened. The aggressors left, then returned for more of the same. The camera doesn't pick up the initial gunshot but I think the second gunshot is probably more problematic for his case.
Reminds me a little of the Rittenhouse case and the case in Chicago when the mother and son pursued an aggressor and got off. Unfortunately for Bennett, he's in jail without bond, set to plea later this month. Businesses close by are vouching for the guy:
