  • Just woke up and the IRS fkked up and sent TWO stimulus checks instead of one. I got $2800!!

    First stimulus was $1200
    Second stimulus was $600
Third Stimulus instead of $1400 sent $2800 instead!!!!!!!

They made a huge mistake. Nothing has changed since my first stimulus check. No dependents, no nothing.

I sure hope the IRS doesn't expect me to notify them of their error, because that's not happening. It's their mistake and it's up to them to identify the problem and fix it. I'm not doing their job for them. And since the IRS is extremely overwhelmed and understaffed due to covid, there is a great chance that it will go unnoticed.

    Early Merry Christmas.

    Early Merry Christmas indeed................

They will likely find out on their own and get it back. I didn't qualify this time around.

      I’d throw the extra 1400 into *******

consider it an interest free loan from the government that won’t have to be repaid till mid April 2022

that 1400 could multiply into $3000+ by then

Doing the same with tax refund and my stimulus, if you're patient and don't panic buy or sell you can really make alot with ******currencies

Seen articles from the last go round that said its highly unlikely people sent extra didn't get to just keep it. IRS has other **** to do.

So keep it quiet and buy that new snowboard or whatever dude.

I'm all for paying as little taxes as you can, but I'd highly recommend you give it back, and get a receipt that you did so.

If they find out about this, and they are one of the few Federal agencies that is pretty competent in terms of doing their job, they are going to collect every cent and possibly interest as well.

And their collection methods can be very brutal. If one day ~$1400 just disappears without notice from one of your accounts, know that that is one of their nicer ways of collecting.

Give it back. They will find their mistake and you may end up owing more.
