  • Training 3 times a week sufficient?

Hey all im new to these forums and this is actually my first post so hello to all.

I have recently started university and am extremely busy. I used to do boxing for about a year and a bit when i was around 16 (i am now 18) and was training for my first amatuer fight. Until one day my gym just closed and hasnt opened up again since. Anyway i havent got back into 'training' again and am looking forward to starting at my new gym.
The gym runs 3 days a week. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Is this enough training a week? I do weight training at a 'real' gym on the alternative days.

Anyway because of time constrainst with university and work im only going to train BOXING with a coach 3 times a week and will barely be able to fit in the weights sessions.

Is this enough training to improve?

I agree, I think you need some road work and cardio vascular work on alternative days.
Boxing especially amateur is mostly heart and lungs, obviously your 3 sessions a week will partly address that as well as improve your punch stamina and technique but unless you have actually fought a competitive fight (unsure if you have) its hard to explain how tiring it is.
Cant you get up half an hour early and do a 30 minute blow out session, for example pick a 3 mile route, and do some interval training, thats where you jog for say 2 minutes, increase the pace up to say 70% for a minute then sprint for thirty seconds, then repeat until you have completed the 3 miles route.
This is one of many sessions you could do that would improve your stamina (slighty) and cardio vascular.
      Theres always a way!

Yep, that's plenty of time, but not enough to go pro, for instance....

yes so il be training boxing activly 3 times a week but working cardio on alternative days. I believe this is enough to fight amatuer. Iv done it before it just takes longer to be 'ready'. por ejemplo...6 months trainign before hand.

You could pull it off. I don't think you're giving yourself the best possable chance to advance with this routine. To be honest I would leave the weights alone. Make sure you wrap your hands good, get really good glove, practice form and go off on the bag. You don't need big muscle to defeat other fighters. Doing something is a lot better then doing nothing, good luck.
