No...not at all. Sure everyone wants to be that guy thats fought since they were 6 and /or comefrom a family of Boxers. But thats not the case all the times and you can still become World Champ if you work hard and get up with the right people! I say...Go for it!

No, but I like a couple fighters that trained there, and I would love to train with the garcia family.

"Tarver made his professional debut at the age of 28 on February 18, 1997," -wikipedia. But he did compete in amateur scene at a younger age.

sergio martinez first stepped in the ring at the age of 20? look where he is now.

so yes, 23. it's too late for you.
simply because you're already in the wrong mindset
so, it's not too late if you set your mindset right

I wouldn't say 23 is too late at all. I'm pretty sure Hopkins started quite late, Froch turned pro in his mid-twenties I believe, and as someone said Tarver too.

The fact is that history is full of fighters that turn pro as soon as possible if not before, but everyone is different and if your situation is different then it doesn't matter all that much. If you fight and win and end up getting a following then you can have a good run I guess.

Hell man some pros are professional since they are like 18 and don't break onto the MainStage till their late twenties/early thirties...I am 22 and hoping to start an amateur career soon, but I have been in the gym since 15 so I havent necessarily just walked into it...

Age doesn't matter, what matters is what you do with your time my man...

23 is nothing. Work hard and stay focus.

you have a background in another sport? That helps for late starters (i.e. Sergio Martinez with cycling, Kermit Cintron with wrestling)
