yeah, what he said ^
It depends on your frame. If you are very overweight but have a skinny frame, you might be able to drop 40 pounds and fight at 140 (light welter) or under. If you are'nt really overweight but you have broad shoulders and a solid build, you'd probably be middleweight or over (160+).
Choose a weight that suits YOU. You won't fight well if you're uncomfortable with the weight (don't drain too much weight, make sure you hydrated too).

Yea that's true. I just rather not be competing with fighters who have a much larger advantage in height .

I'd say 160/154 or below. Much higher than that and you'll start giving up a reach advantage pretty consistently.

Don't feel bad I'm 5'10 and would have a lot of trouble getting there. I'm currently pretty weighty at 200. I think cutting to 154 would be next to impossible for me. Lowest I ever was was 170 in high school. What is your reach. I got 75'.

Get in top condition, then get on a scale and the scale will tell you. You don't pick a weight class you simply get in the best shape you can be in!!
Height is an advantage when the short man doesn't know how to explote him. When the shorter man has the skills then the reach factor is reversed because most long armed fighters are at a disadvantage when the fight is fought at close range! Theres two reaches long & short both have their +s and -s!!!!!Ray

This varies body to body else it mostly depends upon the build bro, some who suffer at this height are hw's while others are fw's so far as the medium is concerned taken as 180 with some weight.
