  • Why not put hip rotation into a jab?

Like I know the jab isnt a power shot or meant to KO but why not add extra speed and power to it by putting the same hip motion as a left hook but for the jab?

Takes no effort increases speed n power, you dont have to throw your body weight at them so much etc

Because the jab is meant to be quick, not powerful. A jab is just a snap at the shoulders mostly. Adding hip rotation makes it a left cross instead of a jab

Good boxers watch their opponents body for early warning signs of what is coming next. The jab should be pumped out like a piston from the shoulder that way there is no give away movement. You throw the jab with more power by stepping in the "Power Jab". Watch Watson Benn.

When you throw a jab, there is a slight bit of hip rotation, very slight. There is no weight transference on the feet.
