  • Can anyone show me the "Flicker Jab"?.

I'll keep it simple. I know that the Flicker Jab is where you jab from the hip and "flick" your hand at where you're hitting your opponent, but whenever I do it, it feels like I'm doing it wrong... Does anyone have a video showing step by step on how to do the Flicker Jab? Thanks!

The key is to be loose. Your fist isn't completely clenched, if even clenched at all while flicking it.

I have no idea how to do the flicker jab though if i were to try to do it id say id do it by jabbing like normal but there would be some diffrences. normally when i jab my fist goes out first followed by fore arm, elbowb, and bicep. with the flicker jab, as i would do it, instead of my fist going out first id get a little lazy with my fist kinda letting it lag behind as i throw the jab.

so what should be happening is your throwing your jab but your fist isnt positioned directy in the line of power coming from the shoulder so it lags behind for most of the punch then right about the time your elbow and shoulder are fully extended the lag catches up your forearm whips around at your elbow and your fist flicks out.

but thats just how i would do it.

Keep your jab hand lower than you would normally. When you throw a regular jab it should be like a piston firing down a cylinder - straight in, straight out. However with a flicker jab the name say it all, flick it out. Twist your core and turn your shoulder as you normally would and kind of "swing" your arm from the lowered position upward, shoulder preceding elbow, elbow preceding fist. It's a loose movement with the tensing of the arm and fist coming before the point of contact, kind of like a tail whip but it stiffens upon contact.

Rather than straiking with the front side of the knuckles, youre almost striking with the top of them.

i have 2 jabs: the flicker jab and the power jab. the flicker jab is just to distort the opponent, close the distance for the hard shots (hooks, uppercuts, right hands). u 'flick' it at him, almost from ur shoulder to ur wrist with a loose hand, just a little tighter than totally loose. this all stems from a little hip swivel of course. step in less than a hard jab, smaller step in and turn in from ur shoulder and back.

it's very annoying to fight against, i've heard, lol.
