That's real old school. Kind of pointless in this day and age, sort of like drinking raw eggs for protein. There are safer and more effective methods that will gain you better results. It will definitely kill your feet and probably leave them with blisters, as well as do damage to your knees. Try some ankles weights instead, and always where good running shoes that are made for the terrain in which you plan to run on.

There's even a debate about whether modern running shoes are a good thing or not. People from countries that don't wear trainers at all have far fewer injuries. Obviously that's not an option for most of us - but evidence points to less is more - so I'd say go out and buy a pair of light running shoes with thin soles.

It appears that the modern running shoe is nothing more than a con to get people's money. People are getting more injuries than ever because of them.

Ali used to run in a pair of heavy work boots, If you can run 5 miles a day wearin heavy ass boots just think of how light you'll feel without those 10 lb boots on.

                running shoes

wear running shoes when you run or else kill your knees.and you need a good quality running shoes such as Nike,Adidas.

if you want to strengthen your stamina, you can back a sand bag on your back or bundle something on your leg.

marciano used to run 5 miles in his army boots... i think u could get the same results though just wearing running shoes and doing plyometrics... it's just to build up stronger legs, doing plyoms and sprints should be just as good for leg strength and running in army boots
