  • Artur Beterbiev training exercises

There's quite a lot on Youtube showing Beterbiev but not much showing in depth stuff.

I found this. It's in Russian but the compound exercises are easy to understand and following.

He's not that tall but he is absolutely shredded and dense. I'm not sure how much he could go up to and it not inhibit his movement. He walks around at sub 190lbs (even as an amateur he was way under the 200lb limit and was outsized in many instances) so another few pounds may be the limit before the extra weight (and training regime) takes it out of his body.

    Anyway, enjoy the video guys.

He looks like one of those very strong, beefy built guys.

I like the joint rotations and stretches he did towards the end of the video, even though it was only shown for a few seconds

The quality of good fighting muscle lies not only in it's strength but also in it's flexibilty/pliability/suppleness. Whatever you want to call it.

Keep in mind he's had quite few training injuries over the years.

Not a boxer, or a particularly good trainer, either, at this moment in time, but do not like those shrugs from 01:44 one bit.

Maybe there's nothing actually wrong with them, and I've watched too much Jeff Caveliere

Edit: not shrugs, whatever the hell you call them, upwards rows? Undermining my point further, here...

The dominant athletes from the caucuses all seem to be very similar in build. At least in combat sports. Not short but not too tall and between 155-185lbs. Their structure and musculature makeup all resemble each other’s. I mean it all makes sense. It’s a tight knit region. Strong without being heavily muscled. I always heard Khabib was surprisingly strong especially with grip.
Artur started fast in his last fight which is a good sign. He will need to pressure Bivol from round one and get to him early. Bivol is so good at his distance, plus his reflexes are next level. Will Artur be quick enough to get to him though? Will 12rnds be enough time to break Bivol down? Will Artur get cut? He tends to lean over his feet when he punches at times. He’s tough as nails of course. Still if he’s not quick and sharp enough to land then what? Bivol knows how to win over 12rnds.

This is Bivol's arm the day after fighting Canelo. If it had been Beterbiev instead of Canelo whaling on the arm, maybe that guard begins to give way.

Oh there's no doubt. Beterbiev would have broken that arm and probably Bivol's face too.

I’m cdn so I support Beterbiev but I’m not biased, may the best man win. My old man has been a boxing fan since a kid as his old man boxed. He was high on Bivol years ago. It will be interesting to get his take on the two fighting. We haven’t seen Bivol hit clean too often. He never looks too marked up after a fight. Yeah Canelo hit his arm but it didn’t stop him from throwing it. I have it as close as I’ve ever had it as of now. Twelve rounds is a long time to last vs Beterbiev. Still Artur will have to start fast cause it won’t be easy to hit Bivol either. Also with Artur being the “wrecking machine” he has almost more to live up to.

Time is not on Beterbiev's side, but he did get in more work than most boxers these last few years. He is also lucky that he is constantly training so always in good shape.

                    i found this too:

                    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5MwJx_HGAM&t=1049s

                    19:40 onwards

His power punches are like rifle shots.
