Actually, the first line of the review is EXACTLY what I thought of these gloves:
"These gloves are rough on your hands. The glove is wide, and the knuckle and thumbs areas are tight."
I owned a pair of 16s and a pair of 14s.
The 16s and the 14s had the SAME EXACT padding (thickness, hardness, etc), the only difference was that the 16s were wider.
There's a seam over the palm, around the thumb that you see on the Cleto gloves available through ringside that I haven't seen on the Cleto Reyes people have actually picked up in Mexico - this seam was hella uncomfortable.
I dropped a friend doing a sparring drill with the 14s and the 16s were just waaaay too wide & uncomfortable.
I know these gloves fit some people well but they're really not good for me.
re: Grants - I love their super bag gloves, but their training gloves are nowhere near as good (at least at 16oz). Again, the 16oz glove has a huge pocket & not much padding on the Grants either.
