  • Pain in my Pinky Finger

I have been training pretty hard this week, especially on the heavy bag.

I noticed my left pinky finger is really tender lately, and it hurts to pull/move it around. This is on the hand I jab/hook with, so it takes the most punishment.

The pain is in the section below the knuckle and the middle joint, but no where else.

Does anyone have an explanation for this? Is it possible I broke/sprained it, or is it just a bruise from overworking it?

From what i read, it sounds like a bruise... it sounds like when your landing your punches most of the impact is on the ring and pinky knuckles...If this is the case try to straighten out the focal point on which the punch is landed..try to keep the impact on your middle knuckle

When you start out you are going to notice pains and aches in all sorts of odd places, Not to mention the bruises. Just strap it up and keep going.

It really hurts to push against or hang onto a bar with that particular finger. It even hurts to just squeeze the painful part, so it may be a pretty serious bruise, which is not so serious afterall.

If you hurt it on the bag, something is wrong in your technique or form.....i would suggest layin off the bag for a lil bit

Same **** happens to me...and I thought it only happened to me cause i have a nerver injury wich cause ma pinky to curl abit....thought it was dat on top of thew way i wrap ma hands( almost like a pro wrap) wich leaves a small bar to curl your fingers in) and thought it was cause of it being prresed hard for 8-9 rounds on da bag
andthe rest on speed bag..and wall to celieng bag

like someone already said, it definitely is because you're hitting the bag incorrectly. here are the options:
                    1. double wraps
                    2. wraps with sponge of knuckle protectors
                    3. better gloves
                    4. practicing technique first, hitting the bag later

your money vs your time... you decide which is the way to go for you
